Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Lima – Transfer to the Hotel

Upon landing at Lima International Airport, our dedicated staff will be ready to welcome you and ensure a seamless transfer to your hotel in the vibrant capital city . The afternoon is yours to unwind after your international journey , explore the rich culture of Lima , indulge in exquisite local cuisine , or simply relax in the comfort of your hotel . Overnight: Belmond Miraflores Park Hotel Check-in: 12:00 Check-out: 9:00 a.m. Meals Included: None NOTE: If your arrival time is before check-in time, you can use the hotel’s common areas while you wait.

Day 2: Lima City Tour Full Day- 06 Hrs Tour

At agreed time, Our Guide will pick you up at 08:30 am to start with a fascinating full-day Lima City Tour. You will be able to appreciate the amazing contrast between the modern and historical aspects of the Capital. From the hotel, we will take a walk to Love Park from where we will delight in the city’s ocean view and there will be time to take pictures. We will then continue to the modern district of Miraflores which is the banking and business center of the city. Here there is a stop to visit Kennedy Park. This place is home to a Catholic church, the Virgen Milagrosa Church built-in 1939. The park also hosts the Municipal Palace , the headquarters of Miraflores’ local government. Then, we will immerse ourselves in the Surquillo Market. This enormous and genuine market is where the locals do their everyday shopping and where you can find excellent, quality food for amazingly low prices and is the preferred market of many famous Peruvian chefs. Afterward, we will head to Barranco which is a colorful district, known for its ‘bohemian’ lifestyle and local artist favorite district. You will visit also the Chabuca Granda Monument and some smaller squares where you can find everything from handicrafts and artisans to street food vendors and live performances. Then our transport will stop to have the lunch. Following the tour, we will visit the Historic Center of Lima with its Main Square, Presidential Palace , and City Hall, Cathedral , and finally, we will take you to the great Saint Francisco Convent and its impressive underground Catacombs! Day 3: Hotel Lima – Arequipa, City Tour – Belmond Andean Explorer

After the flight of one hour approximately, Our staff in Arequipa will be waiting for you at the airport to start the city tour in Arequipa. To begin our tour, we will visit the city: Santa Catalina Monastery , Arequipa Cathedral, Cloisters , the Church of the Company of Jesus , the San Francisco Complex and the Carmen Alto and Yanahuara Viewpoints. In the afternoon we will continue traveling south on the most luxurious train in South America – Belmond Andean Explorer, while you are greeted with a welcome cocktail and live local music. Day 4: Lake Titicaca by Belmond Andean Explorer

From early in the morning, your adventure to Puno is closer than you expected. Continue enjoying an unforgettable experience of luxury and culture aboard the iconic Belmond Andean Explorer train , while you delight in the imposing landscapes of the Sierra Sur and the majestic Lake Titicaca. We will make a stop to explain about the highest navigable lake in the world – El Titicaca. This carefully designed itinerary combines stunning panoramas, world-class gastronomy and encounters with the rich Andean cultural heritage. Through wide windows, contemplate green valleys, imposing mountains and local communities that work the land with ancestral techniques. Day 5: Raqchi Archaeological Site – Cusco with Belmond Andean Explorer

Embark on a unique journey where luxury and culture meet. The Belmond Andean Explorer takes you to the impressive Raqchi Archaeological Site , where we will make a stop. Our guide will explain to you about this historical jewel that tells the mysteries and grandeur of the Inca Empire. It was a temple built in honor of the God Wiracocha. In these ruins we will see remains of the Inca culture and the Wari culture. Finally we will approach the train station and then transfer to your hotel in the city of Cusco Overnight: Belmond Hotel Monasterio Meals Included: Breakfast

Day 6: Cusco City Tour (Cathedral, Qoricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay) – 05 hrs of tour

This day you will visit the best places in Cusco and its surroundings. We will start with the Cathedral , located in the Plaza de Armas, it is the main church of the imperial city, it was built on the palace of the Inca Wiracocha. The Cathedral has more than 300 paintings from the Cusco art school. Then we will visit the Qoricancha , in the Quechua language it means “temple of gold”, it was the first temple built by the Incas, it was formerly covered with large quantities of gold and silver. We will leave the city of Cusco and arrive at the Saqsayhuaman complex, famous for its enormous stone blocks of more than 150 tons. In the Inca era it was considered the temple of lightning, “the god Illapa”. Next, we will visit the temple of Q’enqo , a place dedicated to Pacha Mama (Mother Earth) where you can see carved stone constructions. Then we will arrive at the impressive Inca fort Puka Pukara, in the Quechua language it means Red Fortress. Finally, we will arrive at Tambomachay , where we will see the sacred temple dedicated to the cult of water that probably also served as a purification bath for the Inca rulers. Day 7: Sacred Valley of the Incas (Salineras, Moray and Ollantaytambo)

Today we will visit beautiful Inca villages with their colonial houses. On this unique and pleasant tour we will be able to appreciate the treasures that this sacred land hides. We will begin the day by visiting the experimental agricultural terraces of Moray in groups of circular terraces that measure up to 150 meters deep. According to historians, these constructions constituted an important Inca agricultural laboratory. Since their terraces are built with their respective irrigation channels and each of them constitutes a microclimate. What is most striking is the great difference in average annual temperature between the top and the bottom of the depressions, a difference of up to 15°C. Next we will go to the colonial site of Maras , a town that still preserves its Andean traditions and customs. We will be able to appreciate its beautiful architecture and its houses with colonial-style stone doorways. Then we will visit the Salineras de Maras. These mines continue to be exploited today, where farmers work day after day since the Inca era. Then we will pass through Urubamba, a charming place watched over by imposing mountains, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch. We will delight in typical Peruvian cuisine with a variety of dishes that will include salads, soups, main courses, and delicious desserts. Finally, we will visit the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo , a living town built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley, and prevent possible invasions. We will have a clearer idea of ​​what this military, religious and cultural center was like during the Inca Empire. At the end of the tour we will drop you off at your hotel. Day 8: Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco

In the morning we will pick you up from your hotel in the Sacred Valley, to transfer you to the Ollantaytambo train station. We will board the Vistadome tourist train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, our guide will be waiting for you to direct us to the bus station, where for 30 minutes we will climb 400 m along a zigzag path to reach the incredible wonder of the world “The Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu” also known as “The Lost City of the Incas”. Upon arriving at the citadel with your guide, we will queue at the entrance of Machu Picchu and begin our tour of this amazing archaeological site. For two and a half hours we will visit the main important sites within the citadel of Machu Picchu. After the guided tour, you will be given time to take pictures, before returning to the town of Aguas Calientes. You will have lunch at one of the many restaurants (lunch is not included) , after which we will board the Vistadome tourist train on our return trip to Ollantaytambo (depending on the train departure time) and return the same way we came. Day 9: Umasbamba Community Live Cultural Experience

Breakfast at your hotel in Cusco and pick up time for the tour at 08:00 am. The community of Umasbamba is located in one of the most beautiful places in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, specifically in the district of Chinchero, on the shores of the Laguna de Piuray. Umasbamba is an ancestral town that has preserved art, customs, music, dance, gastronomy, and a lot of cultural wealth since its origins. After 1.30 hours of travel, the guests are welcomed in the Plaza de Armas of the Community of Umasbamba. The welcome will be to the rhythm of their typical music. While the music is playing, the hosts will dance towards the entrance of the premises, followed by the guests. Presentation and explanation of agricultural tools, Bio-Construction, products and Chicha (Aja Wasi) Among these products, the potato, the bean, the wheat, the olluco (a small tuber), among others, stand out. Chicha plays an important role in the beginning of this activity. It begins with the respective permission of Mother Earth with the tinkaska (greeting) and thanks to Pachamama. The materials and tools were used for the elaboration of Adobe (clay and straw dough molded in the form of a brick) Textile Art: Guests will experience the process of shearing, spinning, natural dyeing and skein of wool + hand weaving. They will also learn about the iconography that is of great symbolic value. Lunch prepared by the Umasbamba Community.
