How hard is the Salkantay trek compared to the Inca Trail?
Salkantay reaches higher altitude (up to ~4,630 m / 15,190 ft) and involves longer hiking days than the Classic Inca Trail. It does not require Inca Trail permits. We match you to 4D or 5D routes based on fitness and acclimatization — message us on WhatsApp with your travel month.
When is the best time for Salkantay?
May through September is the dry season with the most reliable trekking weather. Shoulder months (April, October) can work with fewer crowds. We include camping gear and meals on our packages; you bring layers for cold nights at altitude.
